About Us

Entrepreneurial Ownership for Businesses in Transition

LVB The Family Office is a private investment and ownership platform focused on acquiring and developing businesses with operational substance, improvement potential and clear ownership or operational challenges.

We invest where ownership, strategy or operations need to be redefined. These situations often arise in succession processes, corporate carve-outs, spin-offs, non-core divisions, underperformance, restructuring cases or complex ownership transitions.

Our background is entrepreneurial, investment-driven and operational. LVB combines more than three decades of private equity, restructuring, turnaround and transaction experience with entrepreneurial company-building, technology, digital growth and scaling expertise.

We are defined by the type of situation we understand: businesses in transition, ownership change, operational complexity and value creation through active ownership.

Our role goes beyond capital. We bring strategic clarity, capital discipline, operational control and hands-on ownership to companies that can become stronger under focused entrepreneurial leadership.

What Defines LVB

Active Ownership

We do not invest as passive financial sponsors. We take responsibility for strategy, governance, capital allocation and operational development.

Transaction Discipline

Complex situations require more than valuation work. They require judgment, speed, discretion, stakeholder management and execution certainty.

Operational Reality

We focus on the real drivers of value: customers, products, liquidity, working capital, management, systems, processes, sales execution and organizational capability.

Entrepreneurial Execution

Value is created through decisions, implementation and accountability — not through financial cosmetics alone.

INVESTMENTS

LVB focuses on companies and corporate assets with identifiable substance, operational relevance and clear improvement potential.

We invest across industries. Our focus is not limited to brands, consumer businesses or any single sector. We look for situations where ownership change, operational discipline and strategic repositioning can create substantial value.

We are especially interested in businesses that are held back by their current ownership structure, lack of focus, outdated systems, weak commercial execution, financing constraints, unresolved succession issues or insufficient operational attention.

We do not need perfect companies. We need substance, transparency and a realistic path to improvement.

Investment Criteria

Our core target range is companies and business units with annual revenues between

  • EUR 10 million and EUR 500 million.

For larger carve-outs, spin-offs or defined corporate perimeters, we also review situations above this range where the separation logic, governance and execution path are clear.

We typically seek majority or controlling positions. Minority investments are only considered where governance, strategic influence and value creation rights are clearly defined.

We are especially interested in businesses with:

  • Established revenues and real operating substance
  • Clear products, customers or industrial relevance
  • Operational improvement potential
  • Commercial, organizational, financial or technological development potential
  • A credible path to sustainable profitability
  • Separation potential from a larger corporate parent
  • Buy-and-build potential after acquisition
  • Management teams or operational structures that can be strengthened, supported or rebuilt where necessary

We generally avoid purely concept-driven start-ups, businesses without meaningful operating history, highly speculative technology cases, situations driven only by regulatory binary outcomes, and companies where the investment case depends only on financial engineering rather than real operational improvement.

Our Approach

Clarity Before Complexity

A long hallway with marble floor
Complex ownership transitions require judgment, speed, discretion and the ability to act.

We start by understanding the real situation: ownership structure, liquidity, profitability, operational performance, management quality, customer stability, separation feasibility, financing structure and long-term value creation.

We then define the decisions that matter and create a path that can actually be implemented.

Restructuring Discipline. Entrepreneurial Energy. Long-Term Ownership.

LVB combines the discipline of private equity and restructuring with the mindset of entrepreneurial company builders.

We look at the downside first: liquidity, liabilities, operational risks, governance, management quality and separation complexity.

At the same time, we look for the upside: better positioning, stronger commercial execution, digital enablement, improved systems, sharper product focus, buy-and-build potential and renewed entrepreneurial momentum.

Our approach is hands-on, direct and practical. We reduce complexity, identify the decisive issues and move towards execution.

Ownership With Responsibility

We invest as owners, not as short-term financial sponsors.

Where necessary, we actively support or lead the transformation of a business. Where strong management teams are in place, we support them with clarity, resources, governance and operational discipline.

For corporate sellers, entrepreneurs, families and stakeholders, this matters: a transaction is not only about signing. It is about what happens after closing.

Operational Execution Over Financial Cosmetics

We do not rely on financial engineering as a substitute for real improvement.

Our focus is on operational substance: better processes, stronger management, disciplined cost structures, improved sales execution, efficient working capital, clearer reporting, stronger financing structures, better systems and scalable platforms for future growth.

We believe value is created in the operating reality of a company — not only in the transaction structure.

Partnership Where Possible. Decisiveness Where Necessary.

We work constructively with people inside and around the company. Sustainable transformation requires trust, transparency and operational reality.

At the same time, we are clear in our decisions. If a business requires strategic repositioning, restructuring, management change or organizational simplification, we address it directly and implement what is necessary.

  • More than 150 corporate transactions
  • More than 30 years of transaction and operational experience
  • Broad industry exposure across industrial, consumer, services, logistics, technology and branded businesses

LVB’s leadership has been actively involved in acquisitions, restructurings, carve-outs, operational turnarounds, strategic repositionings, buy-and-build strategies and the development of mid-sized businesses in complex ownership situations.

This experience is not limited to financial investment. It includes hands-on operational responsibility, seller and stakeholder negotiations, financing discussions, restructuring processes, post-acquisition development and active ownership where clear decisions and disciplined execution were required.

Relevant Experience for Complex Ownership Situations

Our experience is particularly relevant where a transaction is not simply a change of shares, but a broader ownership transition.

This includes companies and corporate assets facing succession issues, strategic misfit within a larger group, operational underperformance, carve-out requirements, financing constraints, restructuring needs or post-acquisition transformation.

We understand that these situations require more than valuation work. They require judgment, speed, discretion, stakeholder management and the ability to identify which issues truly determine whether a transaction can be executed successfully.
